Alexandra Burke claims first Mini Cooper Convertible

Used car fans looking to be the first to get their hands on the new Mini Cooper Convertible appear to have been beaten to the punch by Alexandra Burke.

The Daily Mirror reports that the X Factor winner may have taken first prize again by snapping up one of the vehicles before anybody else.

A source of the newspaper revealed that the Hallelujah singer has claimed her vehicle 24 hours before anybody else.

The source apparently told the publication: "She was the first person in Britain to take stock of one and is absolutely chuffed to bits with it."

Meanwhile, earlier this year the Mini Cooper S was victorious for the third year in succession at the annual What Car? awards.

The vehicle picked up the accolade for the best hot hatch on sale in the UK, following on from its success in the 'Green Sports Car' category in 2008.

CleanGreenCars.co.uk also recently praised Mini by naming it as the cleanest car manufacturer of 2008.
