Audi UK has announced the launching of its new Direct Reception system at every Audi Centre service area, which allows customers to see and communicate with technicians as they perform diagnosis and repair work on their used Audi's. Technicians are equipped with two-way audio links and 'Audi Cams'.
The initiative is aimed at enhancing confidence and transparency, and to date, pilot schemes from Direct Reception have been positive.
"Service departments throughout the industry are often accused of baffling customers with science - by offering ours full exposure to the work undertaken on their cars, and the ability to talk through that work with the technician involved, our aim is to demystify the process as fully as possible. We want to ensure that everyone who entrusts their Audi to us for servicing and repairs knows exactly where they stand and exactly what to expect," the company said in a release.
The tasks include minor and major services (£99 and £249 respectively), clutch replacement (quattro £799, front-wheel-drive £599), rear and front brake pad replacement, (£99 rear, £99 front), front and rear pad and disc replacement (£229), brake fluid change (£49), cambelt replacement (£349) and front wiper blade replacement (£39).
Buyers of the Audi A1 are also offered with an optional fixed price service plan wherein a one-off payment of only £250 will cover their servicing needs for the initial five years or 50,000 miles.
Over this period, all scheduled servicing, which include brake fluid changes, will be taken care of. In addition, a two-year Audi warranty will also cover all labour and parts (excluding items subject to wear and tear).
