Motorists who desperately need to replace their current vehicle but are keen to keep costs down may find Daihatsu has the answer. The manufacturer has claimed its Sirion is the ideal car for people looking to tighten their belts in the current economic climate.
It explained the model offers excellent fuel economy at 56.5 mpg, which means owners could save money at the pump.
The firm also pointed out the vehicle qualifies for cheap road tax because it boasts CO2 emissions of 118 g/km.
In addition to this, the model is available from as little as £6,320 under the government's scrappage incentive scheme.
Operations director Paul Hegarty stated: "We pride ourselves on building ultra-reliable, practical, fun-to-drive cars for the twenty-first century motorist and the Sirion is a brilliant example of this philosophy."
However, buyers may find they can make even greater savings by searching online for the best deal available on a used Daihatsu.
