Ford tags iTunes to cars

31 December 2009

2010 will see iTunes tagging for Ford cars.

Music lovers will be able to tag songs in their Ford cars from the radio using iTunes from next year, the car brand has announced.

Drivers will have the opportunity to store the name of a song as well as the performing artist when it is playing on the radio with just a touch of a button.

They can then connect their iPods to download the information and synch it to iTunes to purchase the music.

As many as 100 songs can be tagged in this way at any one time.

Presently, the system is confirmed only for implementation within the US.

Ford hit the headlines recently when it revealed details of Ruth, the robot it uses to test its cars.

Ruth, or Robiticised Unit for Tactility and Haptics, measures features such as friction, softness and temperature.

It has also been used to test how easily buttons and knobs can be operated and the hardness of surfaces.
