Land Rovers from hit films and TV shows will be featured at the 2010 LANDROVERmax! at Stoneleigh Park from 28 to 30 August.
The amazing Land Rover 110 from Angelina Jolie's Tomb Raider film will be shown in the event. While Land Rovers have been featured in several films such as The Italian Job, Get Carter and The Ipcress File, Tomb Raider put the popular 4?4 in the spotlight as Lara searched for hidden treasures.
The dramatic City-Cab from Sylvester Stallone's 1995 movie Judge Dredd will also be shown in the event. Based on the forward-control, 31 cars were made for the sci-fi movie. Featuring a new body design for the movie, bodies were built by Land Rover and were made from glassfibre.
From the small screen is Buster, which is a 1986 110 owned by Land Rover fanatic and Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond. His example, which started life as a 3.5-litre V8, now operates a heavy-duty 4.5-litre V8 that pumps out over 200bhp and runs equally tough suspension. If the V8 does not offer enough of a soundtrack, there is a sound system providing the tunes.
According to Richard, he estimated that he has blown almost £70,000 on it, saying: "It cost more than a new Range Rover and is more expensive to run than a Ferrari Enzo ? but I always drive it with a big grin on my face".
