New Audi heads to Miami
20 November 2009
A brand new Audi is heading to Miami for its official launch.
Miami in the Sunshine State of Florida will be the place for the global premiere of the latest Audi. The manufacturer is celebrating its centenary this year and said it will unveil the A8 at a temporary museum called the Audi Pavilion, where it will be the centre point of the Art of Progression - an exhibition featuring various works of art.
Audi acknowledged that this was a somewhat "unconventional" way to take the wraps off a new car.
But Rupert Stadler, Audi AG management board chairman, said the company's Vorsprung Durch Technik ethos also encompassed different aesthetics and architecture.
Head of design Stefan Sielaff added: "Artists, designers and engineers have one passion in common the handling of form, function, colour and material."
The A8, which could be a worthy consideration for used Audi drivers when it hits UK showrooms, is scheduled for its official launch on November 30th.
However, one of the maker's currently available models was recently awarded for its use in the transport industry.
The Scottish Car of the Year event saw the all-terrain A4 given the title of executive car of the year.
