Peugeot RCZ is named most beautiful

Drivers of a used Peugeot may think their model is the most attractive, but the Peugeot RCZ Coupe has just been named the most beautiful.

The model has been voted the most beautiful car of 2009 in an internet poll. With 33 per cent of the public vote, the Peugeot RCZ beat off competition from Citroen, BMW and Nissan to secure the award at the 25th International Automobile Festival.

Over 100,000 people from 62 different countries took part in the online poll which pitched seven vehicles from leading manufacturers against each other to find the most beautiful car of 2009.

The award has been part of the Festival since 1987 and in 1990 it was made a public vote, meaning the winning car is picked on aesthetics alone.

Peugeot has won the accolade three times before with its 406, 406 Coupe and 206 models.

The Peugeot RCZ will be launched in the UK in May 2010, with prices starting from £20,450 on the road.
