Skoda steps into 4x4 debate
14 January 2010
Car maker Skoda has responded to an apparent increase in interest in 4x4s.
Automobile manufacturer Skoda has waded into the discussion about 4x4 vehicles as Britain continues to suffer under snow.Moneysupermarket.com recently revealed that searches for car insurance for such automobiles had gone up on the website.
This suggests that Britons might be looking at buying these kinds of used cars in order to cope with any future heavy snowfall.
Skoda stressed the need for reliable motoring in difficult weather.
Robert Hazelwood, spokesperson for Skoda, commented: "No one could have expected the snowy conditions we have experienced so far this year and with more forecast until the end of January, having suitable transport to get around is essential."
Skoda said that its Yeti model would be well-equipped to deal with adverse conditions of the current type and pointed out that it was named Family Car of the Year in the 2009 Top Gear Awards.
It recently revealed that it had seen better sales last year for its cars than in 2008.
