Take a Cruze in a Chevrolet
01 February 2010
Chevrolet's Cruze 2.0 VCDi LT now comes complete with a new six-speed automatic gearbox.
The new automatic gearbox introduced on Chevrolet's Cruze 2.0 VCDi LT allows the driver to choose between shifting manually or operating in full auto mode, according to the carmaker.Chevrolet noted that the vehicle's six-speed transmission could help drivers cope better in heavy traffic with auto mode, while the manual shift function offers greater flexibility and performance.
It also highlighted the Cruze's low running costs and carbon emissions of 177g/hm, as well as a five-star Euro NCAP crash test rating.
Last month, the carmaker announced that the Cruze will be the focus of a one-make race series.
The vehicles, announced at the Autsport Show at the Birmingham NEC, are based on a 1.8-litre Cruze with standard showroom specifications, although the cars will be converted to accommodate bespoke alloy wheels and KW racing suspension.
According to Chevrolet, the first-ever Cruze Cup race will be held in April at Rockingham.
