Used Suzuki Alto could be used to tackle long trips

Motorists looking for a used car that is equally well suited to long journeys and urban commuting may want to consider the Suzuki Alto.

The auto recently completed a 2,112-mile trip through the north and south islands of New Zealand and back again.

Organised to monitor fuel economy and the comfort levels offered by the auto, the marathon saw motoring journalists Donn Anderson and Allan Dick each take the wheel of an Alto - one with manual and the other with automatic transmission.

Both drivers admitted they were impressed with their model's performance.

Mr Dick stated: "We have just proved that any prejudices about small cars can be put aside."

"The Altos took the journey in their stride," Mr Anderson added.

He went on to praise the auto's environmental credentials, pointing out its impact on the planet is virtually as low as a hybrid car and it boasts a much lower price tag.

In related news, an Alto recently achieved fuel economy of 75.94 mpg in the UK's MPG Marathon.
