Renault has announced it is to bring back the Gordini.
Fans of sporty used cars may be interested to learn that Renault is reviving one of its old classics.The manufacturer has announced it is to bring back the Gordini, which was developed by Amedee Gordini in the 1950s.
Deemed one of the designer's "most successful and iconic" vehicles, the Renault 8 Gordini had a victorious run at the 1964 Tour of Corsica rally.
According to the firm, the auto "delighted lovers of fun driving for a whole decade", was a "symbol of success for a whole generation" and featured in a series of films.
Used car drivers may be tempted to upgrade to one of the new versions of the motor, which utilises Renault Sports Technologies.
The manufacturer claims this will strengthen its compact sports segment, while providing additional "joie de vivre".
Meanwhile, the Renault Scenic was recently awarded a 2009 Golden Steering Wheel award in the MPV category after receiving 30.6 per cent of the votes cast by readers of European car magazines, including Auto Bild.
