The government's used car scrappage scheme has helped to stimulate the general market.
Used car owners trading in their vehicles as part of the government's scrappage scheme have helped to stimulate the car market by 20.4 per cent since May 2009.

Used car prices in the UK dropped in January, the BCA has reported, meaning drivers could take advantage of lower costs.
The average price of used cars has fallen in the past month after a rise in December, new figures from British Car Auctions (BCA) have revealed.

A new campaign launched by government group THINK! aims to get more people to keep their seatbelts fastened.
Motorists are being encouraged to keep their seatbelts fastened in a new campaign launched by the road safety minister.

Drivers of new and used cars should not immediately accept higher renewal quotes on motor insurance.
Motorists have been urged to shop around when their car insurance policy is close to expiration.

The DVLA has set a new record with a personalised number plate being sold for £80,000.

The cost of car insurance saw an unprecedented jump last year, new figures show.
Motor insurance took its steepest hike at the end of 2009, according to figures from the AA.

A new law preventing banned drivers from evading punishment comes into force today.
Drivers who are disqualified for serious motoring offences while visiting the UK or Ireland will no longer be able to avoid the ban when they go back home.
