Alfa Ducati - A Forceful and Classy Sports Compact

Our Rating: No Rating Available

Alfa Romeo has teamed up with Ducati to produce a wonder of engineering that is the Alfa Romeo 147 Ducati Corse Special Edition. The technological aspects of the car are unrivaled, as is to be expected when two such high-level groups work together. Yet, the styling is not ignored, making it one of the most beautiful and comfortable affordable compact cars on the road.

The engine has a quicker response than other Alfa 147's, going from 0 to 62mph in just 8 seconds. What is more, it is a true sports car with a top speed of 134mph. It maxes out in torque with 330Nm at 2000rpm. Add to that the extra feature Sport button that provides a fast acceleration in a quick burst, and you have the soul of a racer. The Ducati people would not have it any other way.

That sporty feel extends to both the exterior and interior details as well. The exterior has exciting, dramatically sweeping lines. The paint finishes include gorgeous Giullietta Red, sleek Etna Black, and a powerful Ghiaccio White. The headlamps have triple light clusters in a tight, elongated lens. Touches like the rear spoiler and the sporty racing-style accessory trims make the car even more exciting. The hatchback feature may be unusual in what most people think of as a sports car, but the Alfa Ducati does not suffer from this design.

The interior is just as impressive if you are interested in having a great-looking compact sports car. The upholstery is black leather with contrasting red stitching. The dashboard dials are sporty too, with red backgrounds and elegant markings. The lush black leather hides safety features like 6 airbags and a sturdy frame. It is more than just a pretty face.

There are other safety features too, including the sophisticated braking system; it has ABS brakes with EBD and stability control, brake assist, and fire prevention control. The suspension is built with a nod to racing; the Formula One style of wishbone front suspension is used with McPherson rear struts.

Do not give up on the possibility of comfort in a sports car, either. With the Alfa Romeo 147 Ducati Special Edition it is ready and waiting. The cabin is designed in a comfortable arrangement with adjustable seat and steering wheel. The upholstery gives a comfy ride. The climate control allows you automatic temperature management with ease. One-touch windows give you further convenience, and a built-in MP3 setup, along with CD and radio let you bring your music with you. Another nice trick is that you can control your music from the steering wheel.

The new Alfa Romeo 147 Ducati Corse Special Edition lives up to its name in every respect. It is a sporty, well-built car that is reminiscent of the great Italian racing cars. At the same time, it is truly special. It is more forceful than the usual Alfa 147, and it has a style all its own. It makes a splash, and at a relatively reasonable cost. With its powerful engine, sporty body, and lush interior, it fills the bill in both excitement and glamour.
