A NEW CLASSY DIESEL

Our Rating: No Rating Available

The Alfa Romeo 159 Limited Edition is classy, beautiful alternative to the Mercedes and Audi automobiles in the same class and no one would guess that it is diesel powered. Having a diesel engine in such a classic looking automobile is unexpected, yet it provides the driver with a powerful, more efficient car than a Mercedes or BMW.

The Alfa Romeo 159 Limited Edition comes equipped with a lowered suspension, red backlit dials, red Brembo brake calipers and leather upholstery. With a limited production number of 250, the demand of such a well designed automobile will be high. The Alfa Romeo 159 comes with a 1.9 JTDM 150bhp Multijet diesel engine.

With the inclusion of the Multijet, it allows the injection to be run independently of the engine speed and can be varied during the rev range not reliant on the amount of diesel that is being delivered to the system. This process will improve combustion will improve the performance and fuel economy of the car. This engine can go from 0-60 in a little over nine seconds and also boasts an extremely impressive amount of pulling power.

When driving the Alfa Romeo 159 Limited Edition you can feel the power begin to burst at 1500 rpm and you can feel the full magnitude of the power provided by the engine at 4500rpm. In the course of running the engine to feel the maximum amount of power, you will be in for the ride of your life. Without losing any of the power, because of the Multijet technology this automobile is 15 percent more efficient than others in the same category. Earning an average of 48mpg, you can still enjoy the power and speed without having to give up any efficiency.

Compared with the 156 that Alfa Romeo produced, the new 159 has improved on virtually every aspect of the older model. With a larger presence than a BMW, the appearance of the Alfa Romeo can be breathtaking, with the gimlet-eyed headlights and precision cut front grill it can be a little intimidating to other cars on the road. The sharper creasing and lines along with a longer front end helps to makes this car a better balanced automobile than its predecessor.

The interior can leave the driver wanting more, it is not as upgraded from the 156 as many might like, it can look a little dated compared to other vehicles on the road today. But the spacious rear seating and ample headroom may help you to overlook some of its shortcomings. The spacious trunk is surprising considering the size of the car, from looking at the outside of the car you wouldn't expect to find such a large trunk. By folding down the rear seats you are able to increase the size of the trunk even more, which can come in handy.

Some automobile enthusiasts may overlook the Alfa Romeo 159 Limited as just another car, but to those who take the time to thoroughly look into everything that it has to offer, it can be quite the discovery.
