The Seducing Brera

Our Rating: No Rating Available

There's no way the Alfa will win a competition as the sharper driving tool but as an object of desire, it could seduce a whole new generation of coupe customers. I laud the Brera production car as one of the best looking cars on the road today.

Its bold, futuristic vision and the classic GTV melding with the classic Alfa Romeo design wow the crowds , especially nobody really believed the flip-up doors would make production. The Brera has the most beautiful triple circular headlamps, and the bonnet swage lines and underbumper air intakes all serve to give the car a pinched, aggressive look that works superbly.

In all honestly, I think this is still one of the most best looking cars I have ever seen. From the rear, the car looks like a million dollars. It has some of the best designs ever - softer and more rounded, the back end features a pair of wedge-shaped tail lamps that integrate into a curvaceous bumper assembly, the arrowhead rear window and quad tailpipes are very deft styling touches, the roofline is raised, and a conventional B-pillar has also been quietly inserted. It has all the neat features that gives value for money.

The Brera 2.2-litre petrol engine is likely to be the big seller. Alfa Romeo predicts that it will take 60 per cent of UK sales .With rear seats that will easily accept smaller children, it's even halfway practical.

I absolutely love the Brera's interior work. Not many cars these days still retain an oil temperature gauge, but not only the Brera has this feature, they also come with plenty of metallic finishes to lift the fascia and driver-oriented instruments. In essence, the design makes a nod or two to tradition.

One would feel very welcomed to drive a Brera. I like their voguish starter button and minor controls on the steering wheel. The Brera seriously takes into account the height of the drivers, especially with plenty of adjustment in both the seat and the steering column, even taller drivers will easily find a comfortable driving position.

The rear seat space isn't stellar but there is a decently-sized boot which would be able to carry golf-bag-sized luggage.

No doubt the Brera certainly captivates everyone's attention. It's a car people will notice and admire. It's a head turner, a real work of automotive art. The car has its own charisma. It's stylish, desirable and it's an object that can seduce you into owning one. It's a coupe that runs its own race, not threatened by competitors. With the features it has, it is worth the buy. The Brera, given its caliber, has a- 4 star evaluation for performance, and 4 stars for handling, and 4.5 stars for styling. It is evident the coupe has its industry's recognition for three key areas in the automobile industry.

Needless to say, the Brera coupe is a car with a futuristic view, and I'm sure Alfa will continue to produce brilliant cars like the Breras.
