The Luck is Back

Our Rating: No Rating Available

Do you believe in a cloverleaf luck? That's what exactly Alfa Romeo driver Udo Sivocci believed in. He apparently convinced his team to paint a cloverleaf symbol on the car's body after he found this leaf by the roadside before the 1923 Targa Florio motor race in Sicily, hoping they would have luck and win the race. True enough, he won the race. It was the first ever major victory that Alfa Romeo had for the International competition. Thus explains the cloverleaf symbol in Alfa Romeo racing cars all over the world.

And now, the Cloverleaf badged car is back in the UK but this time, it's sportier than the Alpha GT. Alfa Romeo's GT Cloverleaf features a more advanced equipment level. For the looks, it is sportier and more refined compare to the basic GT models.

For the GT Cloverleaf range, Alfa Romeo offers 4 engine variants of which 2 are diesel and 2 are petrol. So depending on your needs, you can choose from either of these 4. Apparently, all 4 variants come with a six speed manual gear box.

The petrol engines offer a top speed of 124mph, with an entry level of 1.8TS giving 140bhp while that of diesel engines feature a top speed of 134mph with an entry level of 1.9JTDM giving 150bhp for a price difference of £1,000. So the choice is yours.

Having variants engine wise, all Alfa Romeo Cloverleaf GT has a more compact and aggressive look. And apparently, the design is sort of a mix and match between the 156 saloon and 147 hatch. Of course, that's visible on a closer look. But of course, it's sleek feature and upgraded interior make this model standout among the cars that almost look alike. You can easily distinguish it among others for its unique, and sleek styling.

Performance wise, you can rate Alfa Romeo GT Cloverleaf 4 stars. That's something when we talk about car performances, considering the maximum speed of 135 mph. Fuel consumption is economical basing on its usage of 32 mpg to 59mpg and a combined consumption of urban and extra urban for 46 mpg. And for a moderately sized engine, it gives you a feel that is almost comically powerful in the mild range, having a 225lb/ft of torque. Now that is something really neat.

Standard safety features twin front, side and curtain airbags. Alfa Romeo GT Cloverleaf can fit a garage for a size of 4489, 1763, 1366mm for length, width and height respectively.

And now we have come to the most important of unveiling what this car can offer. The price. Like I said, the price difference between a diesel and petrol engines is £1000. The price actually starts from £19,570 to £22,570 - on the road.

And for a satisfying purchase, give it a test drive and you'll see that you can jink the Alfa Romeo GT Cloverleaf around corners with virtually zero hesitation. The 170bhp engine features Alfa-developed Q2 limited slip differential. That explains it.

Go for a test drive now.
