Cabriolet - A new generation

If you would hit the mark, you must aim a little above it. Walter da Silva, certainly did when he designed the new Audi A5 Cabriolet. If look and style are some of the features you fancy when picking a car of your choice, then the Audi A5 Cabriole have more than that for you.
Beyond the sleek modern skin of the car is the superb long wheelbase, strong curving shoulder line and a V-shaped bonnet design the car has. The A5 Cabriolet has an Arcade cloth seats, Automatic seat belt feeder, Split-folding rear seats for passengers. It is installed with an electrically operated and heated door mirrors, Front grille, and minimum of four Exhaust pipes evenly distributed on both sides of the car rear.
The A5 Cabriolet's engine sits longitudinally like most Audi's A4 and A5 cars, but has its front axle moved forward giving the car more balance from its evenly distributed weight. This is a huge improvement from its predecessor, and car designer Walter affirmed that the A5 is the most beautiful car he has ever built.
The A5 Cabriolet is powered by 3.0-litre V6 TFSI unit with a supercharger helping it to 330bhp with a performance of 0-60mph 6.9s with153mph as maximum speed. It consumes about 41.5mpg of fuel on the average, and programmed with start-stop technology that cuts the engine when the car is standing still and in neutral.
However, experts are of the opinion that the 3.2-liter V-6, which is still an option in the hard-top A5 Coupe that is not available in the cloth-top A5 Coupe is a blow and a huge minus to efficiency. The use of turbocharging to enhance performance is a good idea but, the car cannot be considered a good sporting car.
The car features an electronic Stability Programme (ESP), including ABS, EBD, ASR and EDL. It also has front and rear fog-lights, front passenger airbag de-activation switch, front side airbags, halogen daytime-running lights and much more to ensure maximum security.
On the downside, the metallic roof of older generation A4 and A5 cars has been replaced by a cloth merely filling the purpose of covering the occupants' heads. Although it has some advantages and ease of use because It lowers in just 15 seconds and takes only 17 seconds to reinstate itself, I am of the opinion that it should have retained the metallic head. The cloth head has no effect on its engine capacity, but it does affect the overall look of the car. It waters down a beautifully crafted work of artistry.
Fortunately, the A5 has some improvement; everything is where it should be. The car's cabin puts some premium luxury cars to shame with its superb finish. The cockpit's ergonomics puts less strain on the hand which falls naturally to the controls needed; increasing driving experience.
So, what are we to make of the Audi A5 Cabriolet? At an affordable cost, the Cabriolet is definitely a good buy but only time can really prove its worth.
