The Audi A6 2.8 FSI uses a new technology called Valvelift. Valvelift is a new system that allows for a variable valve timing system which uses two cam contours which allows for two levels of valve travel. This may not seem exciting to some, but the system is quite impressive and the fact that Audi has decided to equip the A6 2.8 FSI with it is quite impressive.

The A6 2.8 FSI displaces 2,773cc which is quite good for the 216bhp and allows for an impressive 280Nm of torque which kicks in at 3,000 to 5,000rpm. The Audi A6 2.8 put out impressive numbers and provides the driver with the kind of power that some would expect from a turbo diesel engine. The power that this engine puts out allows the A6 to go from 0-60 in an impressive 7.3 seconds and tops out at a maximum speed of 150mph.

The FSI or Fuel Stratified Injection system is one that Audi has used in their Le Mans winning automobiles. The FSI system injects unleaded fuel straight into the cylinders. The amount of fuel injected is determined by how hard the driver the pushing the engine. By using a variable intake manifold and variable camshaft, the engine will respond faster to the slightest increase of the throttle while also maximizing the fuel efficiency, torque and the width of the power band.

The power provided by the engine design allows the A6 2.8 FSI to be both powerful and efficient, rating an impressive 33.6 mpg, which is an improvement over the 28.6 mpg that the previous model averaged. The improvement can be attributed to the using a six speed rather than a five speed shifting system. That along with an impressively designed engine makes this car rather impressive.

The styling of the A6 may not be as dynamic as that of the BMW 5-sries, but its elegant lines help it stand on its own. If you prefer your Audi to have more of a prescience on the road, you may want to opt for the S=line option that will allow you to enjoy a lower suspension and larger wheels.

Inside the A6 2.8 FSI you will notice the multi-textured and modern design of the interior. The well designed interior seems to hug the driver and allows for the controls to be easily within reach, with many of the most used controls prominently placed within reach and the other controls are contained in the knob located behind the gear shift.

The interior provides an impressive amount of rear legroom and a trunk that can hold everything that you will need. The available load securing system will help to keep your belongings from moving around in the trunk, the under floor storage compartments also make storage easier. The included storage containers provide extra storage and are easily attached to the sides of the trunk for easier access.

The Audi A6 2.8 FSI offers the driver everything and more of what they have come to expect of cars in the same class. With power, fuel efficiency and a well designed interior, there is virtually nothing that the A6 doesn't have.
