When the A8 3.0 TDI was first introduced it was lauded as the first luxury diesel to meet the emissions regulations. It was said to be cleaner running than the other automobiles in the same class. Because it is a larger sized vehicle, the A8 3.0 would not seem as powerful as others, but the A8 can go from 0-60 in an astounding 7.6 seconds and top out at a speed of 151 mph.

The A8 is an excellent example of performance and efficiency. The A8 offers the driver 450Nm of available torque which can be achieved at an impressively low rpm of 1,400. On a combined city and highway driving situation the A8 averaged 33.6 mpg. The installation of a larger capacity fuel tank means that the driver may only need to refill every 665 miles.

The A8 3.0 features MMI rotary knob that controls the functions of the car and displays them on the dash mounted LCD display screen making it easier for the driver to see what they are adjusting. This system makes adjusting your vehicle's settings even easier to do and understand. There is also a nine speaker 230 watt sound system with a six CD changer installed and the ability to receive digital radio through the DAB system which provides crystal clear reception, this sound system will impress any music aficionado.

The A8 3.0 uses a four zone climate control system, which allows for individual air temperature and distribution control, this system offers comfort not only for those in the front seat but also the passengers in the back. LED indicator lights in the side mirrors along with LED tail lights have also been installed on the A8 3.0 there is also the option of SE of Sport trim plus the choice of short or long wheel base designs. The additional heated front seats and Bluetooth connectivity make this a gadget lover's dream car.

The designers of the A8 have also made improvements to the design of the rack and pinion speed dependent steering which provides a more direct feel for the driver. There were also improvements made on the adaptive air suspension system which gives the A8 tighter body control through corners and a smoother ride. The A8 3.0 has also adopted a full air suspension that features four different set up choices depending on your needs.

With all of the improvement to design and ease of access made to the Audi A8 3.0 it's no wonder that critics are impressed with everything this car has to offer. It has the power to back up its looks and all of the extras that many customers have come to expect in newer models being released. From the sound system to the rack and pinion steering Audi has made improvements where needed and produced a highly coveted automobile.
