TT Roadster - the pride of the noble

Our Rating: No Rating Available

Have you ever been told: ?what I want to see are results and not performance?? It dampens one's spirit especially if you had put in your best. I cannot tell you for certain now that the Audi TT Roadster's performance is proportionate to the effort put into its design, but just hang on there because you will get to be the judge pretty very soon.

The Audi TT is available as a 2+2 hatchback with a punchy engine. It comes with an optional magnetic ride suspension system. The Roadster is ultimately more about its distinctive style, a comfortable ride, and its four-wheel drive system that provides the sort of all-weather traction that few small cars offer.

The innovative Audi Space Frame (ASF) that the TT Roadster is made of is exceptionally strong but substantially lighter than a metal chassis. Safety, performance and handling are all enhanced through the careful hand-welding of magnesium and aluminium.

The TT Roadster is fitted with electrically operated and heated Door mirrors, Electric front windows, Windscreen sun band, Front and rear fog lights, and Halogen headlights. It commands an outstanding retractable rear spoiler, which deploys and retracts automatically at set speeds or when the centre console button is pushed

Its interior is superbly hewed with sleek and modern design. Some of the standard features include leather/faux suede upholstery, heated 10-way power seats, a navigation system, Bluetooth, and satellite radio. Others are 3-spoke Sports 'flat-bottom' design leather steering wheel, Aluminium Laser interior detailing, Black leather handbrake grip, centre console armrest pad and door handle.

It is also branded with Driver's Information System (DIS), Electronic climate control, and Front floor mats. It features front Sports seats and climate control.

The 17? x 8.5J '7-Y-spoke design alloy wheeled Roadster ' with 245/45 R17 Y tyres size offers the Tyre Mobility System suspension system resulting in an exceptional performance; and the four-cylinder turbo unit certainly delivers. It powers the Roadster to 60mph in 6 seconds and can reach a top speed of 155mph, speed limits permitting,

Acceleration is sprightly with the engines; transmission shifts with impressive smoothness. It only suffers from modest turbo lag. The engine, with a combined fuel consumption of only 29.7 mpg emits between 159 - 200 k/gm of CO2, making the TT Roadster an option for both business and pleasure.

As with most Audi cars, security has been enhanced to reassure drivers of their safety. The Roadster is equipped with an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR) - traction control, Anti-theft device - Thatcham Category 1 approved, Driver and front passenger airbags. Other security features include Electronic Differential Lock (EDL) - traction control, and Electronic Stability Programme (ESP).

Also, there is the Front ISOFIX and front passenger airbag de-activation switch, Locking wheel bolts, Roll-over protection bars, Servotronic - electromechanical, speed-sensitive, power-assisted steering, and Side airbags for front seats.

Just before you pass your judgement, also consider that the TT Roadster's distinctive single-frame grille takes up a low position in the face of the car emphasising its sporting appeal. This is one sport car you want in your garage.
