BMW's 3 Series Touring would always be unique and on top of it game because of its one-of-a-kind rear wheel drive layout. It makes the Touring a driver's choice and not its other constituents in the Premium Compact Executive Estate group like Audi's A4 and Mercedes C-class. Let's check out the improvements here in the 3 Series Touring.

Paying £1,000 more for a compact executive estate car would mean getting a privilege of a smaller space than its saloon counterparts. That is like paying for an extra which is really nonexistent. BMW's 3 Series Touring's capacity is exactly the same of that of a 3 Series Saloon, nothing more nothing less. But you cannot judge this car by its carrying capacities. The advantages can really be felt when there are less than four people inside.

It is unusual for a 3 Series' appearance to get attention other than what is inside of the car. The most noticeable change in the face can be seen in the raised lines falling down the middle of the bonnet. Other changes are somewhat insignificant because the improvements do not amount to something big. Other things changed are the grille, rear light clusters and side skirts.

Despite the Touring being 90kg more than the Saloon and its weight distribution not the perfect 50:50, it has no effect to its driving dynamics. There is also an advanced five-link rear axle set-up. Until BMW replaces this car, it is hard to imagine for any other car to cast a shadow on its performance and worth noting is its poise and polished responses.

This car comes with BMW's hot iDrive control interface, with scrolling menu displays for usability. There is an available 8 gig of space for music. When driving, you would have a feel of how it is to drive a £20,000-worth of car. Moreover, the trim of the car has been improved.

To maximize the available space while still being able to seat a passenger, the 3 Series Touring has a 60:40 split-folding seats. The split tailgate can open two different load access options by being able to open in two sections. It's simpler this way because you can easily lift the standard tailgate to get whatever you want to get inside but if it becomes impossible then you can open the smaller hatch. In addition to that, there is also a waterproof container. This is for dirty or wet items so that they would not be dislodged over the trip and dirty other items/

There are several engines available depending on your taste and more importantly, budget. The petrol line has the 143bhp318i, 320i with 170bhp and 218bhp 325i. There is also the 330i with 272bhp and the fastest 335i with twin turbo with 306bhp. Diesel engines are also available starting fro the 318d model. The 163bhp 320d can get to sixty in under eight and has a max speed of 143moh. Others are the 325d with 197bhp, 254bhp330d, and lastly, 335d with its 286bhp.

This range is also green thanks to its EfficientDynamics system that boosts its efficiency. The 318d is able to return a fuel economy value of 60.1mpg and emits 123g/km of carbon dioxide. This is savings not only in the short run but also the long run.

The huge fleet will consist of over 3,000 BMW 3 and 5 Series saloons, which when parked end to end would create a ten-mile tailback. Ac...
