The M3 Coupe comes equipped with a powerful V8 engine that is able to produce 420bhp which BMW has said that the new engine is lighter than the old version used in previous models. BMW has incorporated an induction system that features an oscillating tube that is fed by eight lightweight intake funnels which produces an impressive exhaust growl that will get the attention of anyone who is close enough to hear the enticing growl of the engine.

The BMW M3 Coupe is able to go from 0-62mph in an amazingly fast 4.8 seconds where it tops out at a predetermined 155mph; it has been reported to be able to reach 180mph when the speed limiting software is disabled. The M3 Coupe features a standard six-speed manual transmission, with the option of upgrading to a seven-speed SMG sequential transmission. BMW has designed a stiffer body, which features a carbon fiber reinforced plastic roof and improved M-diff hydraulic center differential.

BMW has made some enhancements to the exterior of the M3 Coupe comes equipped with 18-inch rims with the option to upgrade to 19-inch CSL rims. The front bumper features a honeycomb center grill with two intakes located on either side that were designed to help keep the engine bay and brakes cool. There have been some changes to the design of the hood and sides of the car. There is a ventilation system located in the rear of the car that allows for hot air to be drawn away from the differential. BMW has also added four chrome tipped exhaust pipes to increase the sporty look of the M3. The headlights are now powered by LED lamps and the rear brake lights now feature an LED cluster design. BMW has also placed a side gill into the left front side of the car that features the M3 logo.

The M3 Coupe features an MDrive button that is used to control personalized functions of the car. There is also the Electronic Damper Control system that allows for the driver to choose between Normal, Comfort and Sport modes. The M3 also incorporates the DSC + traction control system and three engine control maps. The Servotronic power steering is controlled by pushing a single button on the steering wheel. The M3 is also equipped with a standard Professional navigation system which is controlled using the MDrive.

BMW also offers some of their most popular technology as option that may be added to the M3, such as, Start Stop technology which helps with fuel economy and CO2 emissions. There is also the SMG sequential transmission and the option of choosing larger wheels. There are also standard safety devices included with the M3 such as six air bags. The M3 is an exquisite example of how technology can assist in producing a high performing vehicle that is also a pleasurable and safe driving experience. Anyone who is fortunate enough to have an M3 in their garage can attest to how well designed the BMW M3 is.
