Our Rating: No Rating Available

The BMW M5 has always been a very impressive car invented the mix of luxury appointment inside with performance under the hood. Now there are a few other cars on the road, the Audi RS6 and the Mercedes AMG E class versions to name 2, that attempt to compete with the M5, but none of these cars truly meets or exceed what the M5 offers.

Under the hood you will find an impressive V10 engine that will generate 100bhp per liter which is up about 25 percent for last year's version. The V10 engine comes with a seven-speed transmission that allows for eleven different shifting patterns. Five of the patterns are used when wanting the automatic capabilities. Another five patterns are used when piloting the car with the manual transmission selected. The eleventh pattern is set up for those drivers that want to replicate the test drivers trek from 0-60 in 4.5 seconds.

Another nice touch is the MDrive button that comes standard in all M class BMW vehicles. This miraculous button allows the driver to up the 400bhp up another 100bhp to a staggering 500bhp. Remember we are discussing an M5 here not and M3. Having an M5 with 500bhp is beyond impressive no matter what standard you are using.

The BMW M5 also comes with what is called an iDrive control knob that allows the driver to choose the gear shift pattern they want, their desired electronic damper and stability controls. This means that you can drive up to a stop sign and realize the guy next to you in the Porsche 911 needs to be taught a lesson in how to drive. You simple press the MDrive button and your tame touring machine turns into a super-sport monster.

The M5 comes with a newer version of the DSC stability control allowing you to choose the stability that you need for any given moment. With the simple press of a button you can have the car running with all the safety features running so you can safely get your million dollar client to and from lunch. Switching the DSC system to the M Dynamic mode will allow for a little more slip around the turns allowing for some real driving. While this setting will turn all the stability controls off allowing for full throttled tom-foolery.

One of the best things about the M3 is that the design is different enough from the other 5 Series BMWs that most people will respect that you are driving one of the best luxury cars on the planet. The M5 has a different look to the front and rear with slightly flared wheel wells that give the M%s a much more powerful look than the run-of-the-mill 5 series beamers. The M5 also comes standard with 19-inch alloy wheels that give an added glint of power to already the dapper look.

If you are looking for a car that tells the world that you are a smart person who lives their life to the fullest both in a boardroom and on a racetrack then the M5 is just the car for you. This car gives the owner the ability to say I succeed at everything I do!
