Not Your Momma's Station Wagon

Normally when a company puts an ?Estate? tag on a vehicle one assumes that they are aiming for the soccer mom or dad who is buying a car just to cart the kids, dogs and gears to and fro school and home. But BMW has created the M5 Touring to change all that.

The BMW M5 Touring is a ?Station Wagon? that will change the way anybody looks and a Touring or Estate vehicle again. Normally in reviews of touring cars the reviewer will discuss the cargo size, seat capacity and overall value of the thing. With the M5 Touring Version the most reviewers forget they are even driving a touring car until they look in the rearview and notice they the back glass is further way than normal.

This ?Station Wagon? comes with a super powered V10 engine that , with the proper setting, will deliver an outstanding 500bhp and get the driver from 0-60 in 4.5 seconds. There is even a setting in the adjustable seven-speed gearbox that will allow the driver to act like a test driver and move the gears to actually get from 0-60 in 4.5 seconds.

BMW left all the same bells and whistles in the M5 Touring as it has in the regular M5. There is the standard MDrive button, the iDrive knob, the eleven gear shift patterns and the 3 stability variations.

The M5 Touring has the same aggressive front and rear housing that lets the M5s stand out from the other BMW 5 series vehicles. And of course BMW throws in the standard 19-inch allows on the Touring as well. No one will mistake this power wagon for their minivan.

Behind all the power tools and the stunning exterior the driver also gets a practical interior if they need to take the kids to practice, travel around the city with a full cargo bed or take the labs to the vet. The M5 touring measures 4.48 meters in length with a load capacity of 535 liters with the rear seats in place. Fold those 40/60 split rear seats down and the cargo capacity goes up to an astonishing 1,650 liters. The back door also comes with the ability to either use it as a fully-automatic door with the simple press of a button on the key or to open only the window to allow the easy input of smaller items.

One of the best features of this car is the Head-up gauge display that is shown on the lower portion of windshield. This type of display allows for the driver to spend less time looking down and the gauges and more time looking at the road ahead.

The BMW M5 is the perfect car for a business person who needs the luxury of an M class BMW, but also wants the freedom to comfortably take the whole family for long weekends in the country. In today's hectic world there is no reason that a person of means needs to sacrifice any of the luxuries in life just because they want their cake and eat it too.
