An X3 for Everyone

Our Rating: No Rating Available

For years BMW has had a multitude of complaints that the X3 in all of its versions is essentially an over-priced and under-dressed X5. People who looked at the eX3 wondered why they should spend the same money for a lesser X3 when they could get the much better X5 for just t little bit more. Now with the release of the BMW X3 2.0 there is a real difference.

The BMW X3 2.0 is now offered with a diesel engine that still puts out a nice 177bhp will getting about 43.5mpg. A great thought considering the X3 2.od comes with all the bells and whistles expected from any purchase of BMW at a lesser cost than a standard Land Rover Freelander or Nissan X-Trail.

Finally BMW has added some of the ?EfficientDynamics? technology to the X3 as it has in some of its other classes. And since BMW expects the X3 2.0d to sell about 70% of all the X3s sold in the UK that is great news for the environment. Along with the 177bhp the X3 2.0d come with more torque that the other X3 models stepping in with about 350Nm. The X3 2.0d will get off the lane at a rate of 0-62 in about 8.9 seconds compared to about 10.2 seconds for other versions. The X3 2.0d will also peg the speedometer at about 128mph compared to 123mph.

This car is obviously being aimed at the jet-setting young rich crowd who hauls toys out to the lake over the weekends and on holidays. However, a family would also be just as pleased owning this car as a young single. The car offers a load of safety features as well.

Standard on the X3 2.0d are dual front, side and window airbags, ABS, DSC and ESP. These features will protect the wild at heart as well as your small ones. The X3 2.od is also equipped with all wheel drive making it safe on all terrains and weather.

At the end of the day BMW missed the mark pushing this car on the younger crowd. Of course all car companies try and ploy the middle-aged folk into buying a car that is meant for someone younger. The X3 2.0d offer classic styling with a touch of luxury and practicality.

The suspension of the BMW X3 2.0 is set up for the driver to understand that no matter where they are driving they will know that they are driving a supreme motorcar made by BMW. Inside and out this car screams quality.

Normally spending 30,000 pounds on a 4x4 would seem like a lot, but with the X3 2.o you are getting a lot of car for that price. You are getting a car that gets good gas mileage, has some nice safety advancement as well as a great look. No matter your lifestyle if you are in the market for a luxury 4x4 that won't break the bank at the dealership or at the pump the X3 2.0d is the SUV for you!
