The Cadillac CTS-V is the beefed up version of the CTS, it is equipped with 6.2 liter V8 engine which produces 556bh. It is also capable of producing an enormous amount of torque at 747Nm. What does this mean for the driver, it allows them to go from 0-60 in a mere 3.9 seconds which is faster than other cars in the same class and it tops out at a max speed of 191mph. The CTS-V has proven itself by completing a lap at the Nurburgring Nordschleife in under eight minutes, which is rather impressive among cars in the same class.
The exterior of the CTS-V features attractive angular lines and deep spoilers and side skirts. The wheel arches are fitted with oversized alloy wheels. The CTS-V also utilizes Cadillac's MRC Magnetic Ride Control technology that uses electro magnets that adjust the firmness of the suspension in accordance with the driving mode the driver has selected. Cadillac has also equipped the CTS-V with a braking system that uses six piston calipers on 380mm discs in the front and four pot calipers with 373mm discs in the rear. The braking system also features hydraulic brake assist, four channel ABS and a dynamic rear bake proportioning system that will insure that you feel safe when you need to stop on the drop of a dime.
When it comes to price the Cadillac CTS-V is less expensive than the Audi RS6 which is the closest to the CTS-V in terms of power and it costs only a bit more than the BMW M3, but has an advantage when it comes to power, the CTS-V produces 140bhp more than the BMW.
The interior of the CTS-V comes loaded with Recaro sports seats that are able to be adjusted in 14 different directions and are made using a mix of leather and suede. Cadillac has also installed a voice activated infotainment system that allows for drivers to easily connect their iPod and also includes a 40 gigabyte hard disc that allows drivers the ability to store their music and save their maps used in the navigation system.
If you're looking for a fuel efficient vehicle, the CTS-V may not be the right choice for you. The powerful engine produces a lot more power than can be considered efficient or produce low emissions. This is not the type of car someone who is concerned with efficiency and being green should own. But for those who have decided to purchase the CTS-V, they are well aware of the limits and enjoy their cars in the manner in which they were designed for.
The Cadillac CTS-V was designed to be a powerhouse and has the engine to back it up. Cadillac has also installed some of the newest technological features which make it more enjoyable for the driver and their passengers. It is a new rendition of the classic muscle cars of yesteryear and lives up to the Cadillac name, making it all the more elite and in demand.
