A Family-Friendly Hatchback

Our Rating: No Rating Available

Citroen is a great brand for families and the C4 Range continues to prove just how great of a brand Citroen is for those with kids to haul to school and back again. The C4 Range is a hatchback that has just about everything going for it. It looks great, has amazing fuel economy, and is up to date on everything technological. The only problem that Citroen seems to continue to have rests in the power and performance department which is acceptable considering the fact that this vehicle is primarily concerned with space and being family-friendly.

There are differing variations on the vehicle with three different types of petrol engines as well as three different types of diesel engines. The 1.6-litre engine is probably the best choice to go with considering it suits the whole of mainstream better than the others and with this engine you get 108hp and a maximum speed of 122mph. The acceleration of the vehicle is fairly adequate getting from 0 to 62 in 11.2 seconds. These factors remain pretty consistent throughout the Citroen family which makes it nice to know that there is a sort of theme that the brand represents pretty well.

Concerning the aspect of fuel economy, Citroen continues to impress with the C4 Range getting a combined 67mpg on the 1.6-litre engine. As for the CO2 emissions, the C4 Range puts out 109 to 162g/km which is fairly decent and also makes it good to know that there is some concern about the environment being shown through the making and design of the hatchback.

Another great thing about the C4 Range is the massive amount of space that you get inside of the vehicle which shows off the practical bits of the vehicle. The interior of the Range keeps with the concept of less is more by hiding away cubbyholes throughout the vehicle as well as the fact that it looks quite small from the outside but once you set foot inside of the cabin, you are surprised by the overall space that is provided, which is very nice for larger families that commute on a regular basis.

Some of the technology inside of the vehicle proves to be handy in terms of placement with the controls for the sound system being placed in close proximity to the climate controls allowing the driver to keep from having to constantly search for what they may be looking for.

The practical and economic sides of this vehicle are enough for anyone to stand up and take notice, and the fact that it looks pretty great does not hurt either. For the driver of today, there needs to be a vehicle that can take the family around while not having to spend your life savings at the pump. Citroen seems to have addressed that issue with the C4 Range, making it a premier hatchback for any family. The only problem left over is what to do about the power and performance department because it would great to have something that can get from point A to point B without having the kids constantly ask ?Are we there yet??
