Stylish Family MPV

For decades now Honda has always seemed to be the carmaker that created something special before most other car makers. They have always delivered top of the class vehicles across the wide range of classes with very few failures. Maybe the reason they do this is because they focus nearly all their attention the family friendly cars while only stepping into sports car when they know they have something truly special. It seems with the Honda FR-V they have once again stepped way out ahead of the competition.
The Honda FR-V sits at the top of the small MPV class that normally aims to just be a car that is safe and easy to drive. Honda is upping the ante again by delivering the FR-V as a small MPV that is not only safe, but fun to drive. Today we will focus our attention on the FR-V offered with the 2.2-litre i-CTDI diesel powered engine which delivers and impressive 45mpg combined fuel mileage.
Honda has seemed to pull of the impossible with the FR-V 2.2 i-CTDI by making an MPV style vehicle that actually looks pretty darn hot on the outside. Honda has based the car on the CR-V's underbody, but the outside looks nothing like the CR-V. Honda gave the FR-V 2.2 i-CTDI a wedge-styled profile that leads back to large rear tail light clusters and an interesting line from the front all the way to the back. In most senses it looks more like an SUV than an MPV.
Inside the FR-V 2.2 i-CTDI is an odd, but appealing mix of old style with new style. Somehow Honda has been able to combine traditional analog styling with the modern use of digital read-out gauges. They have even added an infotainment system and have cleverly placed the gear shifter on the dash.
Honda is selling this MPV as capable of seating six, but it truly is best for a family of four or five with kids ranging from toddler age to teenaged. A family with only younger aged kids might be able comfortable fit six people. The FR-V 2.2 i-CTDI also affords for a decent amount of useable luggage space as well. The three rear seats all fold separately which allows for seating capacity and storage space. They can also all go flat with one flip and don't require a master's degree in engineering to get them flat. The center front seat can also fold flat to allow for the carrying of longer items like skis or long home repair items.
Families across the world can now rejoice that they can buy a car that is safe, fun to drive and actually looks good with the introduction of the FR-V 2.2 i-CTDI. This Honda MPV comes with three point belts on each and every seat, ISOFIX child safety seating fixtures on two of the rear seats and full length curtain airbags on both sides of the interior cabin. Honda will also win raves because the price of the FR-V 2.2 i-CTDI is below 20,000 pounds.
