The Jaguar X-TYPE Estate 2.0D's diesel engine has been rated the best of the X-TYPE series. On average, the 2.0D averages a combined fuel consumption of 48.7 mpg which makes it a very efficient model in the X-TYPE series and perfect for long drives. The 2.0 liter diesel powered engine is able to produce 244lb/ft. of torque. Jaguar has designed a car that has looks and the power to back it up.
Jaguar has done an impressive job in designing their first effort in the estate car market. They have done an impressive job of combining the technology of Ford with their own and have designed cars that are better for it. The design of the split fold rear seats allows for up to an additional three passengers to be seated in the rear comfortably; and when they folded completely flat, there is an impressively large 1415 liters of storage space available.
The luggage storage space area features a retractable cover and the optional cargo nets help keep smaller objects from getting lost and rolling around the storage space. Jaguar has also included chrome spring-loaded D-rings and tie down straps to keep larger items safe while driving. Engineers at Jaguar have also included an under floor secure storage area which offers two deep storage spaces and a 12 volt power supply system that can be used to charge your cell phone or laptop computer. Jaguar has also seen fit to include a rear window that opens separately from the hatchback to allow you to reach in and grab something without having to open the entire door and if your hands are full, you can open the window with the use of a key fob.
The X-TYPE looks primarily the same as it did when it was first released, but Jaguar has improved some of its aesthetic qualities. Jaguar has kept the interior design that many were impressed with when it was initially released They have done an excellent job in keeping what has worked for years and combining it with more modern options as they are released. Jaguar has gone out of its way to seamlessly blend wood veneers and chrome cappings with modern items such as multi-function LCD screens, airbags and a stereo system that features multiple speakers placed throughout the cabin.
Jaguar has also made some improvements to the exterior of the X-TYPE Estate 2.0D, the front has been revised and now includes a redesigned 3D bright mesh grill that features the Jaguar growler emblem. The front bumper covers have been redesigned and there is now a bright splitter located in the lower air intakes and a modern roof-mounted Antenna Pod that replaces the older aerial design that was used in previous models. Jaguar has updated the side mirrors and they now feature turn signal indicators. Improvements were also made to the side moldings; they are now lower and sportier in profile and give the car cleaner look. With all of the enhancements, the X-TYPE Estate 2.0D has lost nothing that drivers have come to appreciate in older editions.
