ESTATE VEHICLES AT THEIR BEST

The Jaguar X-TYPE was the first all-wheel drive car that was produced by the company and the first diesel powered car in their stable of luxury automobiles. The X-TYPE has helped keep the estate car line alive and continues to be produced and improved yearly by Jaguar.
In recent years the automobile industry has tried to write off the estate car as being outdated, but Jaguar has helped the estate car survive by designing cars that people want to be seen in and are fun to drive. Seeing the trend in younger drivers purchasing sportier and more modern looking cars, Jaguar has seen where improvements needed to be made and they have designed a series that appeals to older drivers as well as attract the attention of younger drivers. Jaguar has broken the stereotype of estate cars only being driven by older people, they have built a car that many younger drivers are intrigued by and continue to purchase.
Some of the appeal of the X-TYPE Estate cars is that it comes in a variety of engine sizes and styles. Starting with the 2.0 and 2.2 liter engines that are diesel powered, or if you prefer a petrol powered engine Jaguar has the 3.0 liter V6. Aside from the improvements made to the engine, there have also been enhancements made to the exterior to give the X-TYPEs a sportier look. Jaguar has designed a new roof and changed the rear subframe. To give the driver a stiffer feel in the body, Jaguar has upgraded the chassis and the newer design only added an additional 65kg to the weight of the car.
In the redesigning of the X-TYPE Estate, Jaguar has designed an impressively large and spacious interior. They have included split fold rear seats that allow for an additional one to three passengers to sit comfortably in the rear section. If you need extra storage space, simply fold all three seats down and you will gain an amazing 1415 extra liters of storage space. The rear storage compartment features a retractable cover and optional cargo net storage areas are available upon request. There is also chrome spring-loaded D-rings that allow for the tying down of larger sized items. Jaguar has also designed storage compartments that are located under the storage area and are equipped with a 12v power supply that allows you to recharge your cell phone or laptop without leaving them out in the open.
The interior of the X-TYPE hasn't been change much since the first release, but improvements have been made. There are now wood veneers and chrome cappings, multi-function LCD screens, airbags and a stereo system that features multiple speakers placed throughout the cabin. The exterior now features a redesigned 3D bright mesh grill complete with the Jaguar growler emblem. The front bumpers have been restyled and the old aerial antenna has been replaced with a more modern roof-mounted Antenna Pod. While all these enhancements help keep the X-TYPE current with modern technology, they do not detract from the styling that is still pure Jaguar.
