THE X-FACTOR

Our Rating: No Rating Available

The new Jaguar X-TYPE is a car that was designed to grab the attention of younger car buyers, and that it has done quite well. The X-TYPE series has proven that Jaguar deserves their reputation for quality, attention to detail and elegant styling. You can see the confidence that Jaguar has in their designs and the fact that they continue to improve upon their existing top-sellers shows that they have plenty left when it comes to producing an in demand vehicle.

In their latest installment, Jaguar has added a chrome finish to their mesh grill and a subtle rear spoiler that enhances the seventeen inch alloy wheels. Buyers have the choice of three engine variations, a 2.0 liter diesel, a 2.2 liter diesel and the top of the line 3.0 liter V6 Sport Premium version that produces 231bhp. Whichever model the buyer chooses the driver is in for a treat. All the engines offer the power that many have come to expect from Jaguar and make the ride all that much more fun.

The X-TYPE Sport Premium offers four wheel drive, a perfectly even weight distribution and a chassis that was developed by some of the best engineers in the automobile industry. Although the X-TYPE appears to have changed little throughout the years, it has in fact changed quite a bit. When it was first released the interior set new luxury standards of what a car could look like. Jaguar has not made any drastic changes to the interior, but has found a way in which to blend the old with the new. They combine wood veneers and chrome cappings with newer technology like multi-function LCD screen, airbags and a multi-speaker stereo system. The modern additions do not intruded on the classic design of the interior, but rather enhance it.

Fans of previous installments in the series will undoubtedly notice that Jaguar has made some subtle improvements to the exterior as well. There is now a redesigned 3D bright mesh grill that features the famous growler emblem. The front bumper covers have also been restyled and there is now a bright splitter located in the lower air intakes and a modern roof-mounted Antenna Pod that replaces the previous aerial antenna. Jaguar has added a lower, sportier profile that features modern side moldings. The side mirror have also been modernized and now feature turn signal indicators, Jaguar has also added a wide range of color options to choose from.

With all of the modern touches that Jaguar has added, the X-TYPE still maintains its original appeal and does not look like a giant computer on the inside. The additions have been done tastefully and only add to the richness and luxurious feel that Jaguar is known for. The newly redesigned version still offers the driver the comfort and power that they have come to expect from the X-TYPE line. The X-TYPE Sport Premium is an addition to the line that will attract the attention of many potential buyers.
