When Jaguar first hit the roadways back in the day they were revered because they were often the most unique vehicle on the road and they also had high standards for overall quality. The later fact is always remained stable it was the former idea that somehow disappeared. At the end of the 1900s and the beginning of the 2000s most Jaguar designs were hard to tell from any other car on the road. In fact there were probably people who thought Jaguar had disappeared. Luckily that has changed with the introduction of the Jaguar XF.
Jaguar Design Director Ian Callum recently stated, ?It has been my career goal to return Jaguar to its rightful place as leader in automotive design.? By releasing the XF Jaguar is making it clear to the rest of the car making world that they have returned to the place of style uniqueness. People will be able to look at a newer Jaguar and know instantly that it is a Jaguar.
The exterior of the XF is a blend of muscle and sporty which melds old-school Jaguar styling with new-school type looks. One of the coolest things about the design of the XF is the fact that it looks more like a coupe than a saloon. Inside the car it is very much a saloon because it can easily seat 5 adults comfortably. The boot offers excellent 540-litres of space for luggage and other things. The rear seats can be folded flat as well to allow for 420-litres of added space. Dimensions on the outside of the car come in at 1877mm wide and 2909mm long. Both these numbers make the XF larger than nearly all cars in the same class.
Jaguar has also made a splash over the years with taking the luxury of the interior to a completely different level and the XF continues that tradition. The Jaguar design team has outfitted the interior with lines that are pure with soft-grained leathers and real wood veneers that add a luxurious, yet modern feel .
Under the bonnet Jaguar is offering the XF with a couple of petrol powered engines and two diesel fueled power plants. The petrol engines are offered as either a 3.0-litre or a 5.0-litre. The diesel engines are different variations of a 3.0-litre platform. Drivers looking for power and efficiency will be pleased with either diesel option.
The XF is being offered by Jaguar in three different trim levels. These trim levels are being called Luxury, Premium and Portfolio. There is also something called the R that it the best that the XF offers. From the outside all trim levels are the same except for the R level that has been beefed up a bit to let the neighborhood know that you bought the best. Standard equipment across all trim levels include; leather trim, Bluetooth connectivity, satellite navigation, 6-disc CD changed, electric seats, rear parking sensors and 17-inch alloy wheels.
Safety features in the Jaguar XF include; two-stage airbags in the front, curtain airbags throughout that have a sensor in the seat that activates them when needed. Both front seats come with what is called ?whiplash protection? and ?soft-landing? technology that will return the passengers to their seats softly in the event of an accident.
It is clear that the new Jaguar design team understands very well what the company has stood for over the years. For many car enthusiasts the downfall of Jaguar was very sad, but today they can rejoice because Jaguar has returned.
