Soul: Trendy Choices

The Kia Soul was created to lure the younger generation into the Kia family and hopefully keep them there for life. The styling of the Soul has a very modern, hipster bent to it that older people would look foolish driving. The car seems almost toy like in its exterior design. Aiming a car at the younger crowd is all well and good if that younger crowd can actually afford the vehicle.
Kia is offering the Soul with two engine choices under the bonnet. Both engines are 1.6-litres with the only real difference being that one is petrol powered and the other is powered with diesel oil. The petrol engine drives on 124bhp of power is an excellent amount of power to have for a car that is only a tinge bigger than your average city car. This type of power will allow the car to get from 0-60mph in about 11 seconds and top the speed chart at 110mph.
The Kia Soul with the 1.6-litre CRDi engine uses the common rail injection that is found in most of the best diesel engines on the market today. The 1.6 CRDi delivers a decent 260Nm of torque between 1,900rpm and 2,750rpm. The engine offers a very smooth ride as the driver shifts between gears in the standard 5-speed manual. Top speed is around 109mph and can get from 0-60mph in about 11.3 seconds.
The Kia Soul Echo has a roomy interior that includes plenty of room in all seats for full grown adults and enough boot space to fit pretty much anything the younger crowd needs to tout around. The boot is also designed in such away they it is extremely easy to access and load items into without requiring too much upper body strength.
Trim levels being offered for the Kia Soul include the basic 1 and 2 levels, but can be upgraded to what Kia calls the Samba, Shaker and Burner models. Standard equipment across the levels include air-conditioning, power windows, remote central locking and a CD stereo that includes both a USB and auxiliary inputs. Step the car up to the 2 and Ka throws in 16-inch alloys, colour matched mirrors and door handles and steering mounted audio controls. The Samba model steps up the fun with a stereo that includes door mounted speakers that have LEDS that light up with the beat of the music and also a sub woofer in the luggage bay.
The Kia Soul Echo is only available in either Black or White and the opposite colour of the body is used on the wheels to create a neat look that will appeal to people who oddly want to stand out by driving a monotone car. The Soul Echo gets a few extras not found in the other trim levels that include; leather trim, privacy glass in the rear windows and Bluetooth connectivity.
Kia has completely shocked the world by delivering a trendy car aimed squarely at attracting younger buyers. Kia will reap the rewards of creating a good quality car that will build brand loyalty in the younger generation.
