Our Rating: No Rating Available

The Land Rover Defender 110 Utility Wagon has always been aimed at the people who need these types of vehicles to do their daily chores for their business. The Defender was initially designed after World War II due to necessity. The designer made the original out of Aluminum because after the war steel was being rationed and not readily available. One of the more unique things about this 4x4 is that the modern version still bares many similarities to the original version released in 1948.

One of the things that makes the Defender 110 Utility Wagon stand head and shoulders above many of its competitors is the fact that he 4x4 systems underneath the chassis is extremely capable. The 4x4 system comes with lockable differentials and a low range gearbox that make it possibly the best all-wheel drive in the world. Land Rover also adds protection all over the under carriage to protect the important parts of things that go bump. The protection is in addition to the all ready impressive ground clearance that will get the Defender 110 Utility Wagon through even the most severe terrains.

Under the bonnet of the Defender 110 Utility Wagon Land Rover has put a 2.4-litre diesel that is designed to deliver the type of power that is needed by people who find themselves tire deep in mud pits on a regular basis. Torque comes in at 359NM created between 1,500rpm and 2,700rpm which it plenty of strength even though the horsepower is only 122.

For people who are planning on using the Defender 110 Utility Wagon as a commercial vehicle Land Rover offers a Utility Pack upgrade at no cost. This package will allow the car to be classified as a commercial vehicle which will lower the owner's overall tax burden. The Utility Pack replaces the glass rear side windows with metal panels. The best part though is that even in the commercial version the rear seats are left intact which allows for the ability carry workers out into the field when needed.

Two console options are offered between the front seats. One is a very useful open tray that keeps items close at hand. The second choice is a covered design that will hold 14-litres of stuff. The Land Rover Defender 110 Utility Wagon is available in three trim levels that Land Rover calls Standard, Country and XS. Payload capacity is 1,009kg which qualifies it for the commercial vehicle class.

Gas mileage is not stellar and comes in at an estimated 25mpg combined. The true value of the Defender 110 Utility Wagon comes from the fact that is it very reliable and overall maintenance cost should be low if you follow the suggested service intervals.

The Land Rover Defender 110 Utility Wagon has been the go to vehicle for companies and fleet managers who send their workers out in the rougher areas of the world. The best part for the fleet manager is that this truck is built to withstand even the worst drivers.
