Discovery 4:

Our Rating: No Rating Available

Over the years Land Rover loyalists have watched as the car brand that they loved so much has changed form a maker of rugged off-road style vehicles into a leading luxury brand across the world. Some of the Land Rover lovers have been forced to adapt during this change and didn't like the fact that much of what made the brand unique was disappearing. During that same time Land Rover was able to pick-p new brand lovers while continuing to offer uniquely styled and equipped brands. The most recent update that is sure to cause a stir on both sides of that debate is the Land Rover Discovery 4.

When people think about vehicles like the Discovery 4 they think about a rugged exterior look that under the hood will get them safely through rough terrains and hectic weather conditions. The new version of the Discovery 4 keeps the under the hood bits intact while completely updated the fa‡ade to make it look much more sleek and modern.

Under the bonnet the Land Rover Discovery 4 comes with a range of choices that will help the bulky vehicle through anything a person can throw at it. The engine options start with the entry level 2.7-litre V6 twin turbo diesel which was available in the previous Discovery 3. The 2.7-litre is powered by 188bhp and 440Nm of torque at a low rev of 1,900 rpm. These are decent numbers and will please most owners who driver the Discovery 4 on a daily commute.

People looking for a little more power under the hood of their Discovery 4 an opt for the 3.0-litre diesel that runs on 242bhp and can develop 600NM of torque at just 2,000rpm. This engine is great for people who routinely tow things behind the vehicle because it can generate 500Nm of torque in 500 milliseconds.

One of the most impressive things in any version of the Discovery that is also included n the Discovery 4 is a the Land Rover patented Terrain Response system. This is a system that allows the drive to use a rotary knob located on the console to choose from an array of terrain options. Options of terrain include several for conditions that include; grass, snow, gravel, mud/ruts, sand or rock crawl. Land Rover has updated the latest system to help with launches in conditions like deep sand, rock crawl and hill climb.

Land Rover has also made updates to the exterior styling of the Discovery 4 by making it a little sleeker on the outside while keeping with the rugged, sexy look people have become accustomed too. Land Rover is clever enough to understand that people loyal to their brand want an SUV that looks tough not German. On the inside the car has been upgraded with better materials throughout and a load of technology options that will please all types.

Overall the Land Rover Discovery 4 update will not cause any major problems with brand loyalist. This updated vehicle should also attract a decent amount of new buyers who are looking for something that looks and acts like a rugged machine.

2014 Range Rover Sport is Spotted

Although everybody is excited about the new Range Rover being lighter and more lavish, its Sport version is due to offer a more dynamic and lighter chassis than its upmarket sibling. Utilising the Discovery's Integrated Body Frame chassis, the Sport is viewed as a lesser variant that is a cross between a sturdy ladder chassis and a weight-saving on-road-based chassis. Luckily, the next generation Range Rover and Range Rover Sport will both be structured on a modified J...
