Petrol Luxury

Our Rating: No Rating Available

The major trend in executive class saloons these days is a focus on creating powerful, earth friendly vehicles. Of course most of the luxury car brands feel obligated to offer up powerful petrol options to appease the types of people who live by petrol and have no concern for cost they just want the power. The Mercedes-Benz C350 is one such car.

Under the bonnet of the Mercedes C350 is a powerhouse of a V6 engine that produces a line leading 272bhp of power and can get a good driver from 0-60mph in just 6.2 seconds. No need to adjust your monitor or get a new prescription for your specs, that 6.2 seconds is correct even for one of the larger executive saloons. Top speed pegs the needle to 155mph. Of course that power comes at the price of low fuel consumption numbers with an estimated 20.3mpg in the city, 38.7mpg in extra urban and a combined 29.1mpg.

Mercedes has made the entire c-class a little wider and a little longer by adding 55mm to the length and 45mm to the width, but they have also made the car lighter. Mercedes has equipped the C-Class with what they call the Agility Control package which is a system that features smart dampers that adjust to the style of the driver. If the car is driving along at normal speed the dampers put less force on the car for a softer ride. Amp up the driving and the dampers get stiffer allowing for better handling and control.

Mercedes is offering the C-Class in what they are calling; SE, Sport and Elegance versions might sell a few more vehicles because they cover all their bases. The Sport version with its more aggressive handling and styling will appeal to the younger crowd and the Elegance version comes with a softer suspension and more elegant styling with touches of eucalyptus wood around the cabin. Exterior styling differences are also huge when it comes to comparing the Sport and Elegance packages. The Sport model gets the AMG treatment with 17-inch wheels and the sexy AMG body kit.

Standard features for the C350 are typical for the Mercedes-Benz line-up and don't include too many bells and whistles except for the regular stuff like power windows, power locks and air conditioning. They do however include Bluetooth Connectivity in all the C-class cars. The car also does come with a host of safety equipment that includes; adaptive anti-lock brakes, ESP stability control, dual front airbags, side and curtain airbags, driver's knee airbag and NECKPRO head restraints.

Petrol power may not be the choice of most people today who want a luxury car they can actually afford to drive, but for those people who love the power without car for the cost will be more than pleased with the C350. The engine sounds just as elegant as the car drives and there is very little more enjoyable in life than sitting behind the wheel of a powerhouse vehicles made by the Mercedes-Benz Company.

Haagen-Dazs Direct is now operating within the central London and the M25. If it proves to be popular as the company expects, additional vans will be travelling in the capital's roads in 2011 prior to the start of the process of "r...
