For coupe connoisseurs, it surely can't get any better than this. With this car, Mercedes has raised the standard for luxury coupes to a height virtually unreachable by its competitors.

The new Mercedes-Benz CLS Grand Edition has all it takes to catch your attention and become an instant hit. Mercedes has used a special ?designo magno platinum? paint for the CLS. This specially developed paint resists dirt and scratch, and also accentuates the muscular design of the car. This paint has also been used in painting the radiator grilles of the CLS. The exteriors of the car speak of elegance and class that's unmistakably Mercedes. With the front wings carrying the ?Grand Edition? insignia, the Mercedes-Benz CLS Grand Edition boasts of Bi-xenon headlamps with dark casings, a headlamp cleaning system and dynamic range adjustment for headlamps, fog lamps with active and cornering light functions. The tires are 245/40 R 18 in the front and 275/35 R 18 at the rear. The car has AMG high sheen light-alloy wheels of the AMG18-inch 5-spoke variety, with titanium grey paintings for the pockets. Iridium silver, flint grey, obsidian black or carneol red are the color choices that the Grand Edition comes in.

The interiors are equally classy, the standard fit sliding glass roofs lined with anthracite Alcantara that make the Mercedes-Benz CLS Grand Edition looks more sporty in appearance. The sports look has been consciously and consistently maintained by stainless steel sport pedals with rubber studs. The internal multimedia are handled by Merc's COMAND multimedia system and has features like comfort telephony and PARKTRONIC.

The Mercedes-Benz CLS Grand Edition comes in four engine variants. For the CLS350, you get the CGI direct-injection engine that saves on fuel consumption and gives higher output. The basic model CLS280 has the 3-litre V6 engine fitted. The V6 consumes only 9.1-litres of unleaded petrol for every 100km and develops 215 Kw/292 hp. The torque is a mind blowing 590Nm, and the speed limiter restricts the top speed to 155mph. The CLS has great suspension firmness and in spite of being a coupe, will thrill you like a sports car with its effortless speed and amazing on road performance. The car has reasonable carbon emissions of 215g/Km, and can be ideal for people trying to save more on fuel costs.

Priced at £48,445, the Mercedes-Benz CLS Grand Edition is not for people looking for great value for money cars. If you are ready to dish out the amount however, some pretty surprises in the form of some extra performance await you in the CLS. With lavish interiors and stylish exteriors, the Grand Edition is a powerful four-door coupe that you would definitely like to own.
