Introduced in 2004, the Mercedes CLS range has already seen some mild modifications that include two new AMG V8 engines. A major redesign was however due, and came in the form of the CLS55 AMG that carried a hand built 5.5-litre engine. Summer 2011 will see the all new refined Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG back with a sharper and slicker body and more power.

Though at heart the new Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG is still that standard high performance four-door CLS with swept back roof, it has been thoroughly enhanced and reworked at the AMG works. The body has been sculpted to give the CLS63 a sharper, crisper look. While the traditional three-pointed star is there off the grille, LED headlamps have been updated and new teardrop tail lamps have been added to the rear along with chrome exhaust finishers and a spoiler. The interiors of the car have an elegant feel with heated front and rear bucket seats. The cockpit is made of brushed aluminum and piano black wood. You cannot ignore the three-spoke AMG steering and those paddle shift levers made of aluminum, even if you are not driving. The CLS63 is equipped with a Harman/Kardon Logic7 audio system that features HD radio.

The new Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG is a masterpiece under those hoods. A hand-built 5.5-litre V8 engine with twin turbochargers produces 518 ponies and 516 lb ft of torque. If that's not enough, CLS63 moves 60mph in just 4.4 seconds! When the car is running in manual, Sport or Sport+ mode, a unique cylinder suppression system quickens the shift activity. The twin turbo V8 engine's growl can be music to a lot of ears. The CLS63 is equipped with an optional unique stopping power system that can be added by dishing out approximately $12,000.

The CLS63 has improved safety features for your safe driving. The Active Lane Keeping function uses a camera mounted on the rearview mirror which scans the road lines ahead, and in situations of a lane drift, engages the rear brake to pull you back to into your lane. An improved Distronic cruise control monitors the gap between your Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG and the cars in front and in cases of your car getting dangerously close, pre-charges the brakes. If you are running your car in the Controlled Efficiency mode, the engine stop/start button is always on, which in turn helps reduce emissions. If you want to park your car, all you have to do is press the ?P? button of the AMG drive unit. The AMG button in the central console can be used by a single touch to recall previously saved manual settings. The CLS63 can be an interesting choice for those looking to cut down on fuel bills and taxes.

An estimated price of $ 101, 000 may appear a bit on the heavier side. But then again, this is Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG with a dream engine, great looks, better safety features, and that delicate roar. Can you afford not to own?

New SLS AMG Roadster Features Rigid Bodyshell

AMG has independently developed, for the second time after the "gullwing" version, the concept of the Roadster in parallel with the Coupe.  Engineers at AMG have placed specific attention to the aspects of the bodyshell rigidity, the soft top, driving dynamics and Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) of the SLS AMG Roadster. The proportions of the vehicle speak for themselves - large wheels, long bonnet and a short rear end indicate that the SLS AMG Roadster is...

Haagen Dazs chooses Mercedes Benz Sprinters

When Haagen-Dazs, a popular ice cream retailer, needed a pair of vans to introduce an innovative new delivery service, a single vehicle stood out - the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. Haagen-Dazs Direct is now operating within the central London and the M25. If it proves to be popular as the company expects, additional vans will be travelling in the capital's roads in 2011 prior to the start of the process of "r...
