Fleet Manager's Dream

Our Rating: No Rating Available

Ever since their launch back in the day; Mitsubishi has always been viewed as a commercial vehicle company that also dabbled in making passenger cars. For the most part that has been accurate. They have put out a few vehicles over the years that people seemed to enjoy. However over the last decade or so their passenger cars have been met with a yawn, but all that seems to be changing with the launch of cars like the Colt and the new Mitsubishi Grandis MPV.

Usually when people think of MPVs they think of a car utilized mostly by families across the world. The envision soccer moms and dads shuttling the team from practice and back again. The truth though is that there are plenty of other uses for an MPV and many of them are related to the business world. Fleet managers across the UK will more than impressed at what the Mitsubishi Grandis has to offer them.

The first thing that most business owners look at is the overall cost to get the vehicle on the road. The Mitsubishi Grandis can be had for anywhere between £19,499 and £21,199 depending on the trim level that gets selected. Then they tend to look at how expensive it will be to operate on a daily basis. Mitsubishi is offering the Grandis with a 2.0-litre DI-D diesel powered engine that gets excellent fuel consumption numbers. When driving in city areas drivers can expect to get an estimated 33.6mpg, in extra urban situations the Mitsubishi Grandis gets an estimated 50.4mpg and in combined driving the MPV is capable of an estimated 42.8mpg. Any fleet manager will be more that pleased with these numbers.

Once the car in question is proven to be cost efficient the fleet managers need to see if the vehicle suits their needs. When looking at the Mitsubishi Grandis they will find many options. The Grandis can be used as a people moving shuttle, with the seats folded down the back area can hold up to 1545-litres which means it can also be used to move considerable amount of product or displays back and forth. And for the longer trips the back seats are capable of being turned to face each other to allow for a business meeting while traveling.

Dimensions for the Grandis come in at 4,755mm in length, 1,795mm in width and 1,655 in height. Those numbers make it longer than a Ford Galaxy, narrower than a Ford Fiesta and shorter that a Toyota Previa. This means that it can fit into any parking structure and squeeze through tighter spots than many other cars in the MPV class.

The Mitsubishi Grandis comes nicely equipped with anti-lock brakes, airbags on the driver and passenger side and curtain airbags in the front and middle seats. The MPV is offered with two trim level options that are called: Equippe and Elegance. Standard features on both include a CD stereo, keyless entry, alarm, fog lamps, power door mirrors and 17-inch alloys.

Fleet managers and business owner who want to impress and a decent price will fall in love with that the Mitsubishi Grandis has to offer. The best part is that they can get something flexible, affordable and pleasant to drive.
