Used Audi A5 Cars and Second Hand A5's for sale

The Audi A5 was designed as a compact executive car designed to take the place of the Audi A4 cabriolet. In production since 2007, second hand Audi A5s are available in several alternative body styles, including the two door convertible, two door coupe and the five door liftback.

The first generation of the A5 marked Audi's innovative return to the compact executive couple market. The new A5 was based on the MLP platform, a platform, which was intended to underpin the A6 and A8 next generations. Design-wise, the A5 borrows several elements from the Nuvolari Quattro concept car.

The Audi A5 and S5 cabriolet models began production in 2009; featuring a fabric roof and engines of the same range as the A5 coupe models. The S5 comes with a 3.0 TFSI V6 supercharged engine.

Also in 2009, the Aluminium A5 Couple was presented as a prototype model, demonstrating the benefits of an aluminium frame (Audi Space Frame - ASF). Following the initial unveiling of the new Audi technology, in 2010, the Audi RS5 was presented at the Geneva Motor Show. This was the first rally sport Audi powered by a naturally aspirated engine, prior to the RS4, B7 series.

Since its introduction, the Audi A5 has been praised for its design, quality of build, performance and the all-wheel drive system. In motor sport news, a version of the Audi A5 has been announced as being entered into the German Series DTM race for 2012. Previously BMW achieved great success in the DTM, between 1984 and 1992, the team boasted forty-nine wins. As with many Audi models, nearly new Audi A5s are in good consumer demand, as used Audi A5s tend to hold their value.
