Used Citroen C4 Cars and Second Hand C4's for sale

The Citroen C4, a small family saloon, has been manufactured for the European market since late 2004. It is sold as both a three-door coupe and a five-door hatchback, and is available with either a petrol or a selection of diesel engines. The Citroen C4 is also available as a "Flexifuel" car that burns bio-ethanol, and a hybrid diesel-electric car (the Hybrid HDi).

Designed by Donato Coco, the C4's body style is small, but sleek and efficient. Citroen loaded this small car with technology, which has been one of its primary selling points. Directional headlights, a ventilation system incorporating a perfume dispenser, and the Electronic Stability Program are some of the more mundane features; the massive, wrap-over windscreen that extends well beyond the driver's head, translucent dashboard, and the move of several controls directly onto the steering wheel are very convenient and have created much more buzz. The hatchback tail is raised in the "Loeb" style, allowing the driver to see directly behind, through the Plexiglas tail window.

One addition available only in the high-end "Exclusive" model is a Lane Departure Warning System, which notifies a driver when a lane has been crossed without the turn signal being activated. A technological shortcoming noted since the car's inception is that there is a lack of robust MP3 playback support. Unless purchased as an upgrade, the standard car stereo setup found in a used Citroen C4 doesn't support digital radio and doesn't have an integrated navigational system.

Engines available include a 1.4 litre, 1,360 cc petrol engine with manual transmission that produces 89 horsepower or a 1.6 litre, 118 horsepower engine available with either a manual or automatic transmission. In diesel, two 1.6 litre HDi engines are available, producing either 89 or 108 horsepower.

Second generation Citroen C4 cars, introduced in 2010, were initially available only as a hatchback. Many upgraded functions, including the ability to change the sounds of the indicators and warnings, should help to keep Citroen C4 sales strong.
