Released in 2007, the Jeep Patriot is a Compact Crossover SUV that is meant to be both your typical SUV and function as a family car. The Jeep Patriot’s compact crossover design means that it has been built over a “car” design. This feature allows the Patriot to be considerably smaller than other sports utility vehicles; some would regard this as a negative aspect of the vehicle especially if that person is looking for an imposing bull like vehicle, but for those looking for a rather chill look, one that would be at ease in a cramped city or one that would be easier to park in a condominium building or a high rise apartment.
One of the best points of the Patriot is its Crossover Compact design. This allows the Patriot to maintain a relatively small size that will help it burn less gas, although compared to other cars, the Patriot still burns more fuel. Jeep built the Patriot to serve as a spiritual successor to the Cherokee which was discontinued in 2001; the Patriot indeed was designed to be an urban Sports Utility Vehicle. It uses a 2.0L GEMA engine, which is the Global Engine Manufacturing Alliance. This means that the Patriot uses the same engine as Mitsubishi and Hyundai but with its own special designs.
