Used Lexus RX Cars and Second Hand RX's for sale

The used Lexus RX is a crossover SUV. Lexus, a division of Toyota, a Japanese car manufacturer, created the model. So far, there have been three generations produced: the first was compact and the second two were mid-size.

The first generation of secondhand Lexus RX was in 1997 at the Chicago Auto Show. It was introduced as a 'Sport Luxury Vehicle', being a cross between a sedan and an estate. Used Lexus RX sales were available in two engine sizes: the 2.2 L and the 3.0 L. known as the Lexus RX 300, it was premièred at the North American International Auto Show in 1998. Sales were more than 370,000 units within five years. New features were added during 2000 and 2001 including bigger wheels and a DVD-based automotive navigation system.

The second generation of used Lexus RX models lasted from 2003 to 2009. This series had a sleeker body and LED tail amps and was available with a 3.3 litre engine. In 2006 this was replaced with a 3.5 litre engine and the new model also came with a different grille, seven spoke 18-inch alloy wheels and chrome door handles.

The third generation of nearly new Lexus RX cars were unveiled in 2009 at the Greater Los Angeles Auto Show in November. The MacPherson strut set up was replaced with a double wishbone rear suspension, and a Sports Package is available to tune-up its performance. Front and all-wheel used Lexus RX vehicles are available as hybrids and non-hybrids.

The used Lexus RX has been given a number of awards including Australia's Best Luxury Four Wheel Drive in 2004 and Sport/Utility of the Year by Motor Trend magazine in 1999. This mid-sized nearly new Lexus RX continues to be available as both front and four-wheel drive, while Lexus' hybrid technology provides a cost effective solution for reducing emissions.
