History of Mercedes E-Class
The infamous Mercedes Benz, a German automobile manufacturer, created another model in its superior line of cars. This is called the Mercedes Benz E-Class and is an executive car that has a front engine, rear wheel drive or front engine, four wheel drive layout.
E, which means Einspritzmotor or fuel injection engine was created as a successor to the mid 1930s cars. The W120 Ponton 180 is the first modern Mercedes that was manufactured in 1953 with a four cylinder power. Almost a decade later, the W110 Fintail 190 was created in the year 1962.
In the year 1968, the mid sized Mercedes was recreated to form the W114 / W115 Stroke-8, and which features a four and five cylinder power. The W123 was launched in 1976 and immediately became a big hit in the market. It was recognized as the best seller at that time and it greatly increased the brand’s reputation n producing high quality automobiles.
In 1994, the W124 allowed for the name E-Class to be used. This was available as a four door sedan, a two door coupé, a two door convertible, and a five door station wagon. It was assembled in various parts of Germany including Sindelfingen, Rastatt, Zuffenhausen, and Bremen, and it was also assembled in Mexico and India. This was produced in the years 1984 until 1986.
The W210 E-Class was up in the market from 1995 until 2003 and was called the Import Car of the Year for 1996 by Motor Trend. In the year 2002, the W211 E-Class was launched and remained for sale until 2009 as a four door sedan and a five door station wagon. The latest model is the W212, which was created as a successor for the W211 and is an executive car that was launched in 2009. It is assembled in Germany, India, Mexico, China, and Egypt, and it is available in various body styles including a four door sedan, a two door coupé, a two door convertible, and a five door station wagon.
