The Nissan Qashqai or Dualis is a compact crossover utility or J-Segment vehicle. The Qashqai was created to cater to enthusiasts and buyers who are looking for a smaller, sporty vehicle with the utility of a station wagon and hatchback. The Qashqai is currently in production, and debuted at the 2006 Paris Motor Show. Development and design was spearheaded by the Nissan Technical Centre Europe, the first model to be handled by the group. Qashqai enjoys sales in world markets, and robust sales in Europe.

The Qashqai replaced the Nissan Almera and Mistral, and carries the Nissan C Platform. It was based heavily on the X-Trail. Its top competitors in the segment include the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V. Qashqai+2 is a larger edition of the car, which is capable of carrying 7 passengers. Another edition is the Pure Drive, which promised a more eco-friendly drive. In 2010 and 2011, the model received a facelift and engine update. The interior and exterior restyling included a fresh fascia, LED taillights, wings, grilles and a new headlamp. The technology has also been improved with an LCD which displayed fuel consumption.

The Qashqai proved to be one of Europe’s bestselling cars in 2010, a first for the company after almost two decades.
