Suzuki Splash
The Japanese multinational automobile manufacturer, Suzuki Motor Corporation, created a city car in the year 2008 which was called the Suzuki Splash. This was created as a five door hatchback and follows an FF layout, or a front engine, front wheel drive layout. The Splash was designed as a successor of the Suzuki Wagon R+, which was also a city car sold in the European market since 1993.
The Splash was originally a concept car that was displayed at the Paris Auto Show in 2006. This was developed by Suzuki Motor Corporation and Adam Opel AG as their joint project, and it has several available transmissions including a four speed automatic, a five speed manual, and a continuously variable transmission or CVT. A year after the concept car was displayed, the production model was then shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show, allowing it to be below the Suzuki Swift in the European market’s lineup.
Suzuki Splash is assembled in Esztergom, Hungary and in Manesar, India. Aside from its world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2007, the car was also displayed at the Tokyo Motor Show in the following month. Production and sales of the Splash began in March 2008 in the European continent, and it was seven months later that the car began selling in Japan.
