Toyota Motor Corporation, the Japanese automobile manufacturer, created a small family car or compact car in the year 2006. This was called the Toyota Auris, and it is created as a successor to the Toyota Corolla / Allex, which is also a hatchback. The Auris has a three door hatchback and a five door hatchback body style, and it is available in several transmissions including a five speed manual, six speed manual, four speed automatic, and a five speed multi mode.

                Auris got in name from a Latin word which means gold, and the design of the car was created by Toyota Motor Europe in southern France. The Auris went on sale in the European market in the year 2007, but this was first displayed and seen at the Paris Motor Show in 2006. In the United Kingdom, the Auris went for sale in February 2007 as a replacement for the Toyota Corolla. Among its key competitors include the Vauxhall Astra, Volkswagen Golf, and Ford Focus.

The concept of Toyota Auris used a Vibrant Clarity philosophy with high window surfaces, panoramic glass roof, freeform geometric lamps, and true to its name – a gold coloured body among many others. A hybrid concept of the car is also available, which was revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2009. The latest version is already the second generation, which was first released in August 2012 and displayed at the Paris Motor Show in the same year. Sales of the second generation Auris began  early in 2013 in Europe.
