In the motoring world, the Vauxhall Zafira is relatively new model; the car was only introduced in 1999. The Vauxhall Zafira cars were manufactured by the German company Opel, and traded under various brand names around the world. For instance the Vauxhall Zafira is available in the UK, whereas the rest of Europe know the model as the Opel Zafira, and the Chevrolet Zafira is popular in South America. The second generation of the model was first seen in 2005, after impressive initial sales.

The first generation Zafira shares much in common with the hugely successful Vauxhall Astra, such as floor plans and specification. This compact multi purpose vehicle (MPV) certainly looks like a stretched and manipulated version of the Astra and it soon gained worldwide recognition, being assembled in factories from Thailand to Brazil. .
