11. Swaledale, Yorkshire Dales

First on the list and rather expectedly so is a trail found in the stunning Yorkshire Dales. Covering a distance of 17.5 miles it’s a pretty long trail offering challenges obstacles that would better suit slightly more experienced riders. 10. Crowcombe, Quantock Hills, Somerset

There are definitely some stunning trails to ride past as seen on entry 11 and in at 10 is yet another breath-taking location which will not only test your riding ability, but also expose you to some beautiful scenery. This is a hard trail which will benefit towards slightly more advanced riders, but if you can manage the 23 miles of trail riding, it’ll be well worth it with all the sights the trail rewards you with.

9. Cowmleisure

One more for the bikers, Cowmleisure offers a diverse range of terrains and obstacles, some specific for trials bikes and mountain bikes and others for quad bikes and even 4x4’s. With plenty of space you can certainly have fun, but if you’re in a full on 4x4 accessibility is limited.

8. Kirton Off-Road Centre, Gainsborough

Kirton Off-Road Centre offers over a whopping 600 acres of varied terrain and is usually has a range of off-roading clubs attending. With plenty to see and do you’ll have plenty of fun at the Kirton Off-Road Centre. Just don’t get lost in those 600 acres!

7. Hill n Ditch, Cheshire

In at 7th is Hill n Ditch 4x4. Offering off-road challenges for all ability levels both driver and vehicle wise. Located in the Cheshire/Wirral area, Hill n Ditch have a dedicated off-road centre for you to let the child in you run wild over some tricky terrain.

6. White Cliffe 4 x 4, Forest of Dean

In at number 6 is White Cliff 4x4, located near the Forest of Dean, this quarry based off-road site delivers pretty intensive terrain, testing even the very best 4x4 drivers with cross-axle situations, steep inclines and more. It may be a bit too advanced for beginners looking for 4x4’s but for experienced drivers with the equipment to back them up, White Cliff 4x4 offers a lot of fun. 

5. Wild Tracks, Suffolk

Wild tracks comes in at 5th, located in Suffolk, the Wild Tracks complete off road circuit offers everything from a waterhole to deep mud and sandy soil. It’s no wonder why it’s so popular, especially with the great prices on offer. Wild Tracks only comes in 5th due to it sometimes being so busy meaning potential fun could be interrupted due to others struggling to wade through the muddy goodness.

4. True Grip, Kent

Contrary to the name, True Grip is the place to go when looking for off-roading fun. With a wide range of obstacles coupled with the guidance of professional instructors, you’ll certainly enjoy the course. We can’t help but think that the fun would be a little spoilt by being constantly overlooked by instructors, however, until you’ve tried it who’s to see it won’t be a blast!

3. Perthshire Off-Road, Perthshire

Making it third on our list, Perthshire Off-Road located in… well.. Perthshire, you can take your very own 4x4 or select a vehicle out of the range of 4x4’s and quad bikes for hire making it more accessible to those without a 4x4 built for the rough stuff. With a range of packages, all intended for different skill and experience levels, Perthshire Off-Road is certainly somewhere you should check out for some muddy good fun!

Ultra Adventure Driving has off-road sites based in both England and Wales and is one of the leading companies that provide genuine 4x4 experiences, catered to individual capabilities both in skill and in vehicle.
