The second generation Zafira B was first shown in 2004, and went on to be available for purchase in early 2005. An updated and stylised version of its predecessor, the Zafira B, was extremely popular in the UK; it was the tenth best selling car of 2006, beating Vauxhall's trademark Vectra model. However, by 2010 the Zafira had suffered badly in regards to sales, being outsold by Volkswagen's Touran model by a ratio of 3:1. Numerous factors were to blame for poor sales, although uncertainty over the future of Vauxhall's parent company, Opel, was mainly regarded as a cause of the decline. As a result, secondhand Vauxhall Zafiras became more economically viable.

Although the used Vauxhall Zafira is still regarded as a recent model, there is no doubt as to its phenomenal success in such a short period of time. The model has sold supremely well to a worldwide audience and although it is in need of a re-launch at present, a secondhand Zafira still possesses masses of potential.
